In a significant step aimed at advancing the future of digital endowments (Awqaf), the Secretary-General of the International Forum for Development Organizations, Mr. Maamoun Al-Ashqar, conducted an official visit to the Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation to discuss opportunities for strengthening joint cooperation and to prepare for upcoming events and programs in the field of digital Awqaf.
This visit follows the success of the Digital Awqaf Symposium held in Malaysia from February 18 to 19, which was organized in partnership between the International Forum for Development Organizations, the Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation, and the International Islamic Charitable Organization. The symposium served as a scientific and professional platform that explored ways to utilize modern technology in managing and developing Awqaf.
The Malaysia symposium featured in-depth discussions on digital transformation in endowment work and the role of technological innovation in improving governance, enhancing transparency, and increasing the efficiency of managing endowment resources, thereby maximizing their development impact and serving Muslim communities.
This visit represents a new starting point for further cooperation and integration between the International Forum for Development Organizations and the Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation, within a shared vision aimed at developing innovative digital endowment models and strengthening the role of Awqaf in supporting sustainable development, in line with modern transformations and the evolving needs of Muslim communities worldwide.
