On Sunday, September 8, 2024, a cooperation agreement was signed between the International Forum for Development Organizations and the Sales Professionals Society (SPS), as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and exchange expertise between the development sector and the professional sales sector. The agreement aims to support the capacity development of non-profit organizations and enhance their institutional sustainability.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Maamoun Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of the International Forum for Development Organizations, along with Mr. Hassan Al-Sharif, CEO of Maa Al-Hayat Company; Mr. Ali Diab, Founder of the Sales Professionals Society; Mr. Abdullah Muhanna, Chairman of the Society’s Council of Elders; Ms. Basila Aslim; and Mr. Bassem Al-Aql.
The agreement aims to qualify and develop professional sales specialists dedicated to marketing and promoting the products, services, and projects of non-profit organizations through specialized training programs and the development of customized sales systems tailored to the nature and needs of development work. The partnership also seeks to transfer professional sales expertise to the non-profit sector, enhancing resource management efficiency and diversifying income sources.
In this context, Mr. Maamoun Al-Ashqar emphasized that this partnership represents an important step toward empowering development organizations to enhance their institutional tools and strengthen their ability to achieve their objectives. He noted that building professional sales capacities contributes to financial sustainability while preserving the core development mission.
For his part, Mr. Abdullah Muhanna stated that the agreement establishes a general framework for joint cooperation, including the organization of specialized training courses and workshops, as well as conferences and knowledge-sharing meetings aimed at exchanging expertise and best practices between the development and professional sectors, creating added value for both parties.
This cooperation comes as part of the International Forum for Development Organizations’ efforts to build strategic partnerships with professional entities that help bridge the gap between development and commercial work, supporting the creation of more sustainable models in humanitarian and social development based on efficiency, professionalism, and institutional integration.
