Saudi Arabia – Madinah | January 16–17, 2025

The Secretary-General of the International Forum for Development Organizations, Mr. Maamoun Al-Ashqar, participated in the “Saudi Social Entrepreneurship Summit: Toward an Enabling Ecosystem,” held in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from January 16 to 17, 2025, with broad participation from local and international organizations, institutions, and social entrepreneurs.

The two-day summit was organized as part of the Saudi Social Entrepreneurship Summit in Madinah, bringing together experts and practitioners in social entrepreneurship. The event aimed to strengthen a supportive ecosystem for social entrepreneurship and encourage collaboration among governmental, private, and non-profit sectors to accelerate sustainable development within Saudi society and beyond.

The summit featured working sessions, panel discussions, training workshops, and an accompanying exhibition that facilitated knowledge exchange and showcased success stories in social entrepreneurship. Discussions also addressed strategies for strengthening partnerships among key stakeholders and developing support systems for social entrepreneurs.

The participation of the Secretary-General reflects the International Forum for Development Organizations’ commitment to engaging in events that bring together development, social, and economic sectors, and to strengthening professional networks with key institutions working in development and entrepreneurship. This contributes to knowledge exchange and the establishment of sustainable partnerships that support shared development objectives.
